Pelden Enterprise LTD

Background

Pelden Enterprise Limited (PEL) formerly known as Bhutan Ferro Industries Limited was commissioned in the year 2009. PEL is equipped with two Submerged Arc Furnaces of 11 MVA each and the factory is located in Pasakha Industrial Estate, Chhukha, which borders the state of West Bengal in India.

PEL is highly committed to producing quality products and is thus operated by a qualified team equipped with a state-of-the-art testing facility to monitor its raw materials and final products. PEL is equally mindful of its carbon footprint and thus boasts a robust Gas Cleaning Plant. To ensure zero waste, the slag generated during the production process is pulverized and supplied to local cement plants and brick manufacturing units.

Future Plans

Bhutan is already planning for the next phase of industrial development with the establishment of Jigmeling Industrial Estate, in Gelephu, which has a favorable environment with provisions for basic infrastructure. With the high demand for Ferro Silicon and Silico Manganese, Pelden Group has already proposed and planned to set up 3 numbers of 12 MVA Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF) that are complimented with a 15 MT capacity Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) unit and Oxygen Plant to meet the demands.

The Company will also install a 33 MVA SAF to Manufacture FeSi, which will be designed to maximize the use of locally available quartzite and significantly reduce the dependence on imported quartz. In addition, a 0.5 MT capacity Induction Furnace is also being installed to refine the by-products and produce Ferro Silicon Magnesium which is also a highly sought-after alloy in the steel industry.
